Day 2Amman – Jerash – Ajloun –panoramic city tour -Amman

After breakfast, a full-day visit to the incredible Roman ruins of Jerash, a city in northern Jordan. The city is the administrative center of the Jerash Governorate. It is located 48 kilometers north of the capital city Amman. Jerash flourished during the Greek, Hellenistic, Roman, and Byzantine periods until the mid-eighth century CE, when the 749 Galilee earthquake destroyed large parts of it, while subsequent earthquakes contributed to additional destruction. However, the ancient city has been gradually revealed through a series of excavations which commenced in 1925, and continue to this day. Jerash today is home to one of the best-preserved Greco-Roman cities, which earned it the nickname of “Pompeii of the Middle East”. Continue to Ajloun, the capital town of the Ajloun Governorate, a hilly town in the north of Jordan, located 76 kilometers (around 47 miles) northwest of Amman. It is noted for its impressive ruins of the 12th-century Ajloun Castle. The medieval name Qal’at Ar-Rabad is a 12th-century Muslim castle in northwestern Jordan. It is placed on a hilltop belonging to the Mount Ajloun district, also known as Jabal ‘Auf after a Bedouin tribe that had captured the area in the 12th century. From its high ground, the castle was guarding three Wadis which descend towards the Jordan Valley. It was built by the Ayyubids in the 12th century and enlarged by the Mamluks in the 13th. Drive back to Amman for a Panoramic City Tour – the Old & new parts of the city, and back to the hotel in Amman for overnight.

Day 3Amman – Madaba – Mount Nebo – Dead Sea

After breakfast drive in the direction of Madaba the capital city of Madaba Governorate in central Jordan, with a population of about 60,000. It is best known for its Byzantine and Umayyad mosaics, especially a large Byzantine-era mosaic map of the Holy Land. It is an elevated ridge located in Jordan, approximately 700 meters (2,300 ft) above sea level. Part of the Abarim mountain range continues to Mount Nebo which is mentioned in the Bible as the place where Moses was granted a view of the Promised Land before his death. The view from the summit provides a panorama of the West Bank across the Jordan River valley. The city of Jericho is usually visible from the summit, as is Jerusalem on a very clear day. The biblical town of Nebo, known as Khirbet al-Mukhayyat, is 3.5 km away. The mountain was named after the scribal god Nabu. then drive to the direction of the lowest point on earth “The Dead Sea” Also known as Salt Lake bordered by Jordan to the east and the West Bank and Israel to the west. It lies in the Jordan Rift Valley, and its main tributary is the Jordan River. As of 2019, the lake’s surface is 430.5 meters (1,412 ft) below sea level, making its shores the lowest land-based elevation on Earth. It is 304 m (997 ft) deep, it is one of the world’s saltiest bodies of water which makes swimming similar to floating. It was one of the world’s first health resorts (for Herod the Great), and it has been the supplier of a wide variety of products. and visits Al-Maghtas, officially known as the “Baptism Site” which refers to a location where individuals can be baptized.
